Handwriting the Bible?

Combine the laborious work of pre-Gutenberg monks to copy sacred texts with modern-day flash mob performances, and what do you get?

More than 30,000 people in the United Kingdom helping to transcribe one copy of the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible — by hand.

British Methodists set up public writing centers in village halls, prisons, schools, libraries, shopping centers and airports.

Written in English, as well as other languages and Braille, the complete Bible takes up 31 volumes and is set to tour the U.K.
