The five most spiritual films of 1995

The Brussats recommend Dead Man Walking; Babe; Cry, the Beloved Country; A Little Princess and Smoke as the five most spiritual films as 1995. Here's an example:

1. Dead Man Walking
(Gramercy; R — violence, language) This drama is about a Roman Catholic nun who becomes the spiritual advisor to a young man during his last days on death row. He has participated in the gruesome murder of two teenagers. She encourages him to accept responsibility for what he's done and to ask for forgiveness. In her work with him and the victims' parents, she exem plifies the compassion of Jesus. There is violence in flashback scenes of the murders, but it is only used to show us that a ministry of love to sinners is difficult. This is one of the most positive portraits of Christian ministry we've ever seen.
