Word-watcher Paul McFedries identified a new word for winter holidays: "Chrismukkah," a celebration combining elements of Christmas and Hanukkah. McFedries, who runs www.wordspy.com, cites the word's first appearance in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin in 1999 and subsequent appearances in Entertainment Weekly, www.RollingStone.com and on FOX television's O.C.
