Great cartoons! The first on church membership reminded me of an experience as one of the youth coordinators for church in the East (no names, some involved may still be around). That position gave me representation at Council meetings. Around Easter time, the softball team coach came and asked for the usual monetary support for the team. The money was to come out of the youth budget. Since the team was largely made up of young (and not so young) adults many of whom were at best C&E members of the church. Some, including me, questioned the appropriate of church sponsorship, especially out of the youth budget. The coach was adamant and got his way since he maintained that without support, most of the team would play elsewhere. He grudgingly got his money. C'est la guerre.
