Times they are a-changin'

Music icon Bob Dylan appears to have overcome his fans' disdain at his well-known mystifying behavior on religion, a professor said.

Dylan suffered greater fan outrage from his initial conversion to Christianity, complete with biblical-reference-filled songs, said Michael J. Gilmour, associate professor of New Testament and English literature at Providence College, Manitoba, Canada, and author of Gods and Guitars (Baylor University Press, 2009).

Fan reaction has evolved so that listeners now feel more at ease dealing with the deeper questions raised in music by Dylan, who appears to have returned to Judaism based on his latest activities.
